How It Works
Starting with Series 25, LEGO introduced data matrix codes on collectible minifigure packaging to help collectors identify contents without opening packages.

Locate the Code
Find the small data matrix code printed on the back of LEGO minifigure packaging (Series 25 and newer only).

Scan with Camera
Point your camera at the data matrix code. The scanner will decode the information to identify the minifigure.

Identify Minifigure
The scanner displays which minifigure is inside the package, helping you collect complete sets or find specific characters.

Data Matrix Codes on LEGO
LEGO began adding data matrix codes to collectible minifigure packaging with Series 25. These small square codes allow collectors to identify which minifigure is inside without opening the package.
The codes are printed directly on the cardboard packaging and contain a unique identifier for each minifigure in the series.
